The Old Mad River in Manayunk Has Been Transformed Into the “Lincoln Mill Haunted House” With 40 Live Actors
Philly is just got a new haunted attraction just in time for prime spooky season. The old Mad River at 400 Main St. in Manayunk has been transformed into a large haunted house that will feature 40 live actors.
The all-new Lincoln Mill Haunted House opens October 6th and will be run ever Thursday through Saturday until November 5th. Tickets are sold in hour time slots starting from 6:45pm to 11:45pm.
“On September 2, 2021, Hurricane Ida struck Philadelphia and flooded the Lincoln Mill to historic water levels. The flood significantly damaged the mill’s interior and revealed a hidden chamber located below the basement level. Countless bodies were found and a dark truth was discovered about the mill’s past,” states Lincoln Mill.
“Local authorities determined that during the Great Depression in the 1930’s, Viktor Kane, the mill owner, tormented and experimented on his workers. Countless workers lost their lives and their spirits continue to haunt the mill. Construction has since been halted and the mill will open to the public for guests to experience its dark past for themselves,” Lincoln Mill adds.
For those that aren’t into scary attractions, Lincoln Mill will also have a more family-oriented event every Saturday from 12-4pm with no scary actors. This means that you can walk through the Haunted House and not worry that someone will jump out and scare you. The lights will however be off. During this time Lincoln Mill Haunted House will be running an integrated scavenger hunt in the haunted house where you and your family and friends will find all of your accomplices of Viktor Kane throughout.
This is all for a great cause because Lincoln Mill will donating $1 from every ticket sold to CHOP (Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.) As for food and beverages, Lincoln Mill is partnering with a local brewery and food trucks to have beverages available.
Tickets start at $29 for general admission with a $55 VIP option that offers perks such as skipping the line as well as access to a private deck to eat and drink while overlooking the Schuylkill River.
