World Cafe Live is Hosting “EQ Session,” a R&B Concert & Interview Series Featuring Emerging Artists

If you’re a fan of R&B and are interested in checking out the hottest emerging artists in Philly as well as around the country, then you may want to look into the EQ Session happening at World Cafe Live.

This month’s EQ Session takes place Thursday June 30th at 7 pm and will feature Toronto bred R&B singer Jon Vinyl, as well as Philly vocalists, Noel Scales,  Re-Mus, and Cordell. Hosted by Wooder Ice’s very own Lauren Rei from the “Lauren Rei Live” Podcast, EQ Session will provide a platform for each artist to do a set followed by a one-on-one interview conducted by Lauren Rei.

EQ Session was established nine years ago by West Philadelphia recording artist, producer, and curator James Weldon, to create a platform for artists to showcase their talents and allow an in depth look at the inner workings of their creative process. Tickets to the EQ Sessions are $30 and can be purchased here. 

 

Artist Information

Jon Vinyl

Jon Vinyl is a 23 year-old artist from Toronto, Ontario whose keen sense of emotion has given his listeners the ability to tap in to their nostalgic moments of teenage love, providing his personal soundtrack tot hose daydreams of passed relationships. Jon’s soulful records occupy a sound that has an air of sophistication and vulnerability. Production sounds of strummed guitar chords and waving synths fall into a soft spot between R&B and Soul, which lay the perfect framework for Jon’s open and honest accounts of his own run-ins with love.

 

Noel Scales

The 30 year¬ old singer, songwriter, composer, and poet is renowned for her hard-hitting, socially and emotionally conscious expressions. Inspirational, informative, and down¬ to ¬earth; Scales’ poetic and musical offerings inject a progressive, heartfelt, and reflective vibe into any live show, and to any ear fortunate enough to come upon her voice.

Re-Mus

A Philadelphia born – Georgia raised singer, songwriter, and producer. Inspired by the likes of Musiq Soulchild, Stevie Wonder, Rick James, James Brown, and the late great Michael Jackson. Re-Mus exudes a clear passion and purpose through his music. By incorporating his culture and all that he has learned over the years, Re-mus has developed a unique euphoric sound and message he hopes to share with the world.

 

Cordell

Cordell is a Philly based Artist originating from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. He moved to Philly in 2015 to attend university of the arts where he graduated with a bachelors in vocal performance. He now has Music available on all streaming platforms and can be seen performing around the tri-state area
