New Bar Alert: Yachtsman Opens for Business in Fishtown

If you frequent Northern Liberties and Fishtown eateries then the name Tommy Up should ring a bell.  Tommy who owns the popular PYT burger joint in the Piazza and his partner Sara Brown are looking again to strike gold as they unveiled their latest venture “The Yachtsman.”

The Yachtsman is a tiki bar influenced bar is located at 1444 Frankford Ave. and features cool tropical decor.  This spot looks like a place you might stumble upon in Fiji not Fishtown.  Nevertheless, this spot which began as a Kickstarter campaign has already garnered lots of attention in and around the vibrant Fishtown community.  Although not very large this quaint spot has a big personality.  You’d be hard pressed to find a spot with such a cool vibe and cool menu to match.

This will be the first full week since their grand opening this past weekend.  Expect to find cool and refreshing drinks such as piña coladas, mai tais, and a host of other specialty cocktails.
