Jordan Brand Is Set to Open Its First U.S. World of Flight Flagship Store Right Here in Philly
October 10, 2025 marks a historic moment for sneaker culture and basketball fans alike as Jordan Brand opens its first U.S. World of Flight flagship retail experience in Philadelphia. Located at 1617 Walnut Street in a restored Beaux Arts building in the city’s Historic District, the store is more than just retail — it’s a celebration of basketball culture, community, and legacy.
World of Flight represents Jordan Brand’s highest expression of product and experience. Inside, fans will find premium collections of footwear and apparel, exclusive product drops, co-creation spaces, storytelling activations, and curated experiences designed to connect deeply with basketball culture. The Philadelphia store will house the broadest assortment of Jordan Brand gear available in the U.S.
“World of Flight is a direct portal to our brand and represents the pinnacle of basketball culture,” said Sarah Mensah, President of Jordan Brand. “Opening our first World of Flight door in Philadelphia, where Michael Jordan played his last game and Jalen Hurts is redefining greatness on the football field, is emblematic of the stories, legacy, and achievements we continue to create and uplift.”
Philadelphia holds a special place in Jordan Brand’s story. Not only did Michael Jordan play the final game of his NBA career here in 2003, but brand co-founder Larry Miller was born and raised in the city. Jordan Brand has also invested in Philadelphia for years, naming its first class of Wings Scholars in 2015 and working with local Purpose partners, including the Jalen Hurts Foundation, to empower young people.
For local fans, the choice feels natural. “I think it is amazing that Jordan Brand chose Philadelphia for its first World of Flight store in the U.S. — it is a city that has shown me so much love and deserves the best,” said Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback and Jordan Brand athlete. “Now World of Flight is going to be a special experience for everybody that comes through.”
World of Flight Philadelphia becomes the sixth Jordan Brand flagship worldwide and the first in the U.S., following recent openings in Mexico City (2024), Beijing (2024), Seoul (2023), Tokyo (2023), and Milan (2022). It’s also the start of an ambitious plan to expand the concept into other U.S. cities.
“This city is one of the largest basketball-demand markets in the country,” said Jeremy Bolds, GM, North America, Jordan Brand. “We’re here to serve the community with not just an incredible retail experience but also programming that uplifts local athletes, artists, creators, and fans.”
The store officially opens on October 10 at 10 a.m., with fans invited to experience the space firsthand. To mark the occasion, Jordan Brand will host a Block Party at 4 p.m. outside the Walnut Street location, complete with exclusive surprises, community activations, and celebrations of Philadelphia’s basketball culture.
