Huda Burger is Opening in Fishtown, Featuring a Rotating Burger Lineup and Soft-Serve from 1-900-Ice-Cream
Fishtown is getting a new addition to its booming food scene as Chef Yehuda Sichel, best known for his celebrated Huda in Rittenhouse prepares to expand. The fast-casual restaurant will officially open to the public on Wednesday, November 19, at 1603 Frankford Avenue, just steps from Suraya, Fishtown Social, and Palmer Park.
Huda Burger will build on the signature flavors that made Sichel’s original Huda a standout, while introducing a menu centered around smash burgers served on Huda’s beloved house-made Japanese-style seeded milk buns. The opening lineup will feature five to six rotating burgers, including a classic cheeseburger, a vegetarian option, and a customizable build-your-own burger. Standouts include a pastrami fried onion burger, blending the richness of a pastrami burger with the iconic Oklahoma-style smash technique, and a playful “cheeseburger salad.”
Beyond burgers, guests can expect crispy chicken sandwiches, curly fries, house-made pickles, and indulgent milkshakes in vanilla, chocolate, and black & white. The shop will also serve soft-serve from 1-900-Ice-Cream, the local favorite also featured in the shakes.
“My partner Dan Berkowitz and I have been talking about Huda Burger for five years, and we’re so excited to finally make it real,” Sichel said. “Fishtown is quickly becoming a burger mecca, and we think the neighborhood will really connect with a local concept that’s all about great ingredients, serious flavor, and amazing burgers.”
Berkowitz, CEO and Co-founder of 100x Hospitality, brings extensive experience in guest-focused concept development to the project.
Designed by Lance Saunders, the 1,350-square-foot space offers a handful of indoor counter seats and several outdoor tables, creating a casual and welcoming neighborhood atmosphere. The shop will open daily at 11 a.m., offering dine-in, pickup, and third-party delivery, with plans to extend hours into late night service soon.
