Get Ready for the Brewerytown Sidewalk Social, a “Mini-Festival” Featuring 15 Vendors, Live Music, Food Trucks and More

A midweek “mini-festival” called the Brewerytown Sidewalk Social will take place on Wednesday, August 5, from 5 to 7 p.m. along Girard Avenue between 26th and 29th Streets. The event is intended to encourage neighbors to return to Girard Avenue and support local businesses that saw reduced foot traffic during Fan Fest at Lemon Hill.

The event will include 15 craft vendors, 15 local businesses, two musical performers and three food trucks, according to organizers.

Two live performances are scheduled during the event: Joshua Chase Miller will perform outside Baby’s Kusina at 2816 W Girard Ave., and Dane will perform at 2637brew, located at 2637 W Girard Ave.

Participating food and drink vendors include Baby’s Kusina (offering a limited food and drink menu), Deborah’s Kitchen (soul food), Rybrew (sandwiches and beer), Irie (Jamaican food), 2637brew (drafts, cocktails and comfort food), Italian Express (pizza by the slice), Poe’s Side Piece (sandwiches and snacks), Human Robot Girard (craft beer), Spot Gourmet Burgers (offering a slider special), Harper’s Ice Cream (scoops, milkshakes, pints and soft-serve), Nine Thai Kitchen (Thai cuisine), and Fire Fried Hot Chicken (halal-friendly comfort food).

Retail participants include Shaw’s Beauties, which is offering a buy-one-get-one-free promotion on its clearance rack; Retro Rewind Vintage & Thrift, offering curated clothing, shoes and accessories; Community Thrift; Beauty Town, a beauty supply store; and New Style Ladies Shop, offering dresses, hats, purses and jewelry.
