City Winery Hosts Eagles Kickoff Week With Big Dom Lookalike Contest, Trivia Night, and Home Opener Watch Party
Philly’s passion for football is unmatched, and this season City Winery Philadelphia is giving fans a new way to celebrate the Birds. Over two nights, fans can gather for trivia, laughs, chants, and a full-fledged watch party featuring food, drinks, and even a contest honoring one of the Eagles’ most beloved figures—Big Dom.
Night One: Eagles Trivia & Big Dom Lookalike Contest (Tuesday, Sept. 2)
The festivities begin on Tuesday, September 2, with Eagles Trivia hosted by comedian and Birds superfan Kirsten Michelle Cills. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the show starting at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free with RSVP.
Fans can test their knowledge on everything from Eagles history to game-day lore while competing for prizes and bragging rights. After trivia, the spotlight shifts to the inaugural Big Dom Lookalike Contest, where fans who think they resemble Eagles’ legendary senior advisor Domenico “Big Dom” DiSandro can show off their best sideline swagger. A special guest judge will be on hand, and Big Dom-themed merch (in collaboration with Art History) will be available for purchase. Expect plenty of giveaways, Eagles chants, and the perfect warm-up for the season ahead.
Night Two: Eagles Home Opener Watch Party (Thursday, Sept. 4)
The celebration continues Thursday, September 4, as City Winery transforms into a game-day destination for the Birds’ season opener. The event is hosted by Tyrone Johnson, well known to Philadelphia sports fans from his time with 97.5 The Fanatic. Doors open at 7 p.m., with kickoff at 8:20 p.m.
For $45, guests will enjoy an all-you-can-eat buffet featuring pizza, wings, chips, pretzels, and more, alongside a cash bar serving specialty “Birds cocktails.” The game will be shown on three projector screens, ensuring every seat has a great view of the action. Tickets are available at at citywinery.com/philadelphia/events
City Winery has been hosting monthly free RSVP trivia nights that consistently draw 150–200 people. This fall, the team decided to build on that momentum and dedicate an entire week to Eagles fans. By pairing trivia and comedy with game-day camaraderie, the venue is creating a unique experience that blends Philly culture, football tradition, and plenty of green pride.
