Urban Farmer Partners with Local Breweries for Beer-B-Q Event!

Urban Farmer, Philadelphia’s “rustic chic” modern American steakhouse, is partnering with local craft breweries for Beer-B-Q, a one-day-only outdoor beer festival featuring a bevy of local breweries, BBQ platters, an oyster shucking station, live music, lawn games, and more – on Thursday, September 12th from 5-9 pm.

Beer and BBQ lovers are invited to join Urban Farmer on the patio, overlooking Logan Circle and the beautiful Swann Memorial Foundation, for an evening celebrating local breweries and beer-focused BBQ. Guests will also enjoy live music courtesy of Call Me Felix while playing lawn games, such as corn hole, ladder ball, and more.

“My ideal late-summer night is sipping a cold beer over the grill,” said Urban Farmer Executive Chef Sonny Ingui. “When people ask what the secret ingredient is in my BBQ, the answer is always beer, especially locally-made brews – in marinades, mop sauces, etc. Our Beer-B-Q festival is meant to be reminiscent of your family BBQs, but better… with a Philly twist and a great view!”

Chef Sonny will be on the grill all evening, turning out BBQ dishes made with beer from the featured breweries, including:

  • Applewood Smoked Beef Brisket ($16), generously mopped with Victory Storm King Stout Memphis Style BBQ sauce
  • Grilled Jumbo Shrimp Skewers ($18), served with a Pizza Boy Ballet IPA herb butter glaze
  • Chicken Wings ($14) with Tröegs Dreamweaver Beer Brine, smoked, then grilled to order

The platters will be available à la carte, two for $25, or three for $35. All of the barbecue bites will be served with corn bread, coleslaw, and baked heirloom beans.

In addition to the BBQ menu, attendees can enjoy East Coast Oysters at the oyster station, shucked or grilled to order, served with a Sly Fox Pikeland Pils Mignonette. The oysters will be available $3/ea or $16 for ½ dozen.

Eight local breweries will be on-site serving up beer all night. Featured breweries include:
