More Than 20 Philadelphia Parks Will Host Free Outdoor Movie Nights This Summer and Fall

Looking for a fun and free way to spend a summer evening in Philadelphia? Grab a blanket, pack some snacks, and head to your neighborhood park as free outdoor movie nights return to parks across the city this summer and fall.

Organized by Philadelphia’s Park Friends Groups with support from Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and Fairmount Park Conservancy, the annual Cinema Under the Stars series will bring family-friendly films to more than 20 parks throughout Philadelphia from June through October.

The outdoor screenings offer residents the chance to gather with neighbors and enjoy some of the year’s most anticipated movies under the night sky — all completely free of charge.

This year’s lineup features a mix of blockbuster hits, animated favorites, family adventures, and classic films, ensuring there’s something for audiences of all ages.

Among the featured titles are:

  • Goat
  • A Minecraft Movie
  • When Harry Met Sally
  • The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants
  • You, Me & Tuscany

Movies will be screened in neighborhood parks spanning every corner of the city, making it easy for residents to find a showing close to home.

A Neighborhood Tradition

The movie nights are designed to bring communities together while activating public green spaces across Philadelphia. Families, friends, and neighbors are encouraged to arrive before dusk to claim a spot, enjoy the park atmosphere, and connect with their community before the movie begins.

Each screening is hosted by local Park Friends Groups, who work year-round to support, maintain, and activate Philadelphia’s neighborhood parks.
