Tria Announces “Women in Wine Week,” Honoring Top Female Winemakers
Beginning on Sunday, May 8, Tria will celebrate Women in Wine Week, pouring exciting and unusual woman-produced wines at special prices all week long.
Women in Wine Week will kick off wish a special Sunday School offering: winemaker Heidi Schröck’s 2015 Rosé Zweigelt Field Blend “Biscaya,” a blend of eight varietals renowned for its savory qualities. All Tria cafes will pour the Biscaya for just $6 ½ per glass throughout the day. Wine Director Michael McCauley met Schröck in Austria in 2009 and was bowled over by her: “She is a mother, a leading winemaker, an organizer of an all-female winemaker group, a renegade experimenter, a traditionalist, and, most importantly, a special person in the wild world of wine.”
Women in Wine Week will continue with two more wines, featured on special all week long:
- Farmstrong Rosé Carignane, a 2014 Mendocino rosé from Faith Armstrong Foster for $9 per glass
- Day Wines “Mamacita” Malvasia Pétillang Naturel, a 2015 Applegate Valley, OR natural sparkling wine from Brianna Day for $10 per glass
