The New Yoga and Fitness Center “Muse Yoga & Fitness” is Opening in Francisville

Owners Maggie and Steph have always had a strong passion for fitness and in the middle of the pandemic decided to start the process of opening Muse Yoga & Fitness in the Francisville neighborhood (at 1513 Ridge Avenue) which is slated for a late October/early November opening. Muse will offer heated and non-heated vinyasa yoga classes, virtual and in-person private yoga classes, and personal training and group fitness classes. Maggie has her Yoga Teacher Training (200-hour YTT) Certificate and Steph is a Certified Personal Trainer with a degree in nutrition. With the Francisville neighborhood lacking a yoga presence, Maggie and Steph felt motivated to create a new fitness experience that warmly welcomes people of all kinds. Their culture is one of inclusion, compassion, community, and engagement.

So why Fracisville? Maggie and Steph are residents of the neighborhood and wanted to contribute to developing their community. The Ridge Ave corridor is an area that’s quickly growing in Francisville – there are many new residential condos and apartments and even more being built. There aren’t any similar fitness studios nearby and these local entrepreneurs believe that Francisville is a perfect location for new small businesses.

Maggie and Steph are optimistic about the long-term investment of opening a new business during covid. They feel that people are ready to embrace community, companionship, health, and wellness. The Muse team is grateful that their landlord Stamm Development Group worked with them to establish a flexible lease that includes considerations for covid.  While it created many challenges, the pandemic also allowed Maggie and Steph to develop community relationships and offer services to non-profit groups near and dear to their hearts. Muse Yoga and Fitness also has a large outdoor patio space which they intend to turn into a welcoming community area to hang out before or after class.
