Global Cocktail Event, The Cocktail Atlas, Comes to Vernick Fish Featuring Award-Winning Mixologists From Around the World
Vernick Fish, located inside Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia, will host The Cocktail Atlas on Thursday, October 15, bringing together award-winning bartending talent from three internationally recognized bars: Bandista in Houston, a 50 Best Bars recipient; Marcus in Montreal, a James Beard Award winner; and Charles H (H Bar) in Seoul, recognized among the World’s 50 Best Bars and honored with the Best International Bar accolade at the Spirited Awards. Vernick Fish will also participate alongside its guests, with Jon Bamonte and Vernick Fish Beverage Director Dawn Trabing behind the bar presenting a featured cocktail of their own for the evening.
The Cocktail Atlas is designed to transport guests through some of the world’s most influential cocktail destinations in a single evening. By welcoming internationally recognized bartenders into its home bar, Vernick Fish aims to give guests the opportunity to experience global cocktail culture while highlighting the innovation, hospitality and talent that continue to shape Philadelphia’s own beverage community. According to the venue, this is its most ambitious beverage activation to date, following an earlier collaboration this year between Vernick Fish and bartender and author Danny Childs for the Field Study pop-up.
The Cocktail Atlas takes place across Vernick Fish’s bar and lounge, and no reservation is required to participate in the activations there. Guests can explore cocktails from each visiting bartender, with each presenting drinks inspired by their home city and approach to hospitality.
Guests who reserve a table in the Vernick Fish dining room will receive an additional experience: a roaming highball cart inspired by Japan’s cocktail culture. The cart will serve classic Japanese highballs customized with distinctive “essences” created by each visiting bartender, each designed to reflect their home city through flavor and aroma. For example, Jay Lawson of Marcus Bar in Montreal is preparing an essence using mélilot, a local wildflower with notes of vanilla, tonka bean and sweet hay, paired with sea buckthorn redistilled with a local aquavit using a rotary evaporator.
Executive Chef Partner Greg Vernick and Chef de Cuisine David Paterniti of the Vernick Fish team will prepare destination-inspired bites to accompany the cocktails throughout the evening. The event will also feature curated playlists from each participating bar, intended to reflect the sound and atmosphere associated with Houston, Montreal and Seoul’s respective cocktail scenes.
The Cocktail Atlas is a one-night-only event. A complete drink and food menu is still being finalized, with additional details expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
