Rooftop Season is Back. Bok Bar is Set to Open in April With Chef Residencies, Yoga, Salsa & More
It’s almost rooftop season and one of Philly’s hottest rooftop destinations is set to open mid April.
From April 11 – November 3, Bok Bar will host chef residencies by some of Philly’s and South Jersey’s best and an eclectic lineup of events from salsa and line dancing classes to drag performances and a new summer concert series.
Bok Bar’s menu will rotate every month, featuring the culinary creations of seven different chefs: Darnel’s (April), Jezebel’s Cafe (May), Puyero Venezuelan Flavor (June), Down North Pizza (July), Korea Taqueria (August), Gabriella’s Vietnam (September), and Sweet Amalia (October). Kicking off the season is Darnel’s, a mission-driven bake shop and cafe that raises awareness about the HIV/AIDS epidemic and supports local and national organizations that are at the forefront of fighting the virus, disease, and stigmas.
Back once again this year is Bok Bar’s free event series, featuring monthly dance classes including Salsa with DJ’s Big George and VSpice and Boot Scoot line dancing with DJ Hugocito. Bok Bar is also excited to welcome back the award-winning Brittany Lynn and her Drag Mafia for monthly drag performances, and Bok community member KG Strong for their rooftop yoga series (a percentage of proceeds from which supports a different local nonprofit each month). Brand new in 2024 is a can’t-miss Summer Concert Series featuring the rhythms of Josh Lang and DJ Sylo (BWC Sounds) and Dave P (Making Time). Event tickets are available at bokbar.ticketleap.com/.
