PhilaMoca is Hosting dollaFEST With Live Music, Comedians, Films, Pizza From Pizza Brain, and All For $1
Many of you may be too young to remember Robocop’s Bixby Snyder and his famous “I’ll buy that for a dollar,” punchline. But we all can agree we’d all be willing to shell out a buck at the inaugrual dollaFest being held at PhilaMocha (531 N. 12th St.) on Saturday June 17th. From 12:30 pm until 3 pm, guests can indulge in wide-range of activities including live music, DJs, comedy shows, films and more.
“I’ve been putting together shows under the LOOK OVER HERE banner since 2021. In that timeframe, the Philly comedy scene has expanded. There are a lot of excellent comedians in the area, and tons of great shows. So, I want to focus on curating experiences that won’t be found elsewhere. Part of that is in different performance and visual art communities converging,” states organizer Charles Steele.
A dollaFEST ticket holder can expect to see the best of the local comedy, music, and art scene coming together to bring them a show like no other. Plus free pizza from Philly’s beloved Pizza Brain.
Enjoy comedy performances from Ronald Metellus (Netflix’s I Think You Should Leave, Ziwe), Malakiah Ayres (Phillys Phunniest finalist), Joshua Machiz (Amazon Prime, NY Times, Huffington Post), Anna Gallagher (Phillys Phunniest Semi Finalist), Eric Yates (Union Hall), Jacqueline blizzard, Nazeer Art’aud (Featured on the cover of Philadelphia Weekly), Ben Staab (Ayo Actually podcast), and Asante Morris.
In addition videos from comedy duos SCROTE, Liam Paris & Andrew Shearer, and a video from @dessi2k x eswcu plus a retrospective reel of man on the street videos created by Charles will be on display.
For grub, enjoy complimentary pizza from Pizza Brain while supplies last. “I’m purchasing enough slices for every ticket buyer to have a slice. Plus, a couple extra boxes,” Charles added. There will also be complimentary water.
