Oyster House’s Guest Chef Lobster Roll Series Returns with Paffuto’s “Fra Diavolo Lobster Roll”
The Oyster House’s beloved Guest Chef Lobster Roll Series is making its return to Rittenhouse this fall. From October 7 through October 11, the landmark restaurant at 1516 Sansom Street will welcome the chef/partners of Paffuto—Daniel Griffiths, Jake Loeffler, and Sam Kalkut—for a special collaborative lobster roll.
Working alongside Oyster House chefs Joe Campoli and James Waters, the Paffuto team will present their take on the classic: a Fra Diavolo Lobster Roll, featuring poached lobster warmed in fra diavolo butter made with fermented Fresno peppers, garlic, shallots, and oregano. The roll is finished with fresh chives and Paffuto’s signature house giardiniera, bringing a bright acidity to balance the rich lobster.
The lobster roll will be available for lunch and dinner service for $39, with proceeds benefiting Philabundance, a nonprofit dedicated to fighting hunger across Southeastern Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey. Philabundance provides nutritious meals to more than 135,000 people each week, including children, families, and seniors.
To kick things off, Paffuto will host a special launch happy hour on Tuesday, October 7 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Oyster House, where guests can be among the first to try the limited-edition roll.
This installment marks the first time in a year that Oyster House has revived its charitable Guest Chef Lobster Roll Series, with more collaborations to be announced in the coming months via the restaurant’s social media channels.
