Milkcrate Cafe is Opening a New Location in West Philly & Launching Their New Vinyl Bar
If you love vinyl records and coffee then chances are you’ve stopped by the Milkcrate Cafe in Fishtown (400 E. Girard). Known for their perfect blend of music aesthetics and cafe vibes, Milkcrate has been known for blazing its own trial on the coffee and DJ scene. Now it looks like West Philadelphians will get an opportunity to experience the vibes for themselves as Milkcrate Cafe is slated to open their second location Milkcrate Cafe West (45th and Baltimore) on Thursday September 25th.
Milkcrate West will open its doors at 9:00 am and “will be offering an assortment of wonderful coffee, food, records and lovely vibes! We are also planning private evening events with food, cocktails and DJs. The floor plan is more open, the concept is the same. We will have slightly different menu selections,” states owner Adam Porter.
During the initial opening guests can expect limited food options but Milkcrate Cafe West plans to scale up the new location with bagels & pastries to start. Over the next month or so look for more breakfast sandwiches as well as grab & go lunch items. The new space will seat up to 30 guests and will be open daily 8am-3pm but will expand hours around spring.
“We have been searching for a location in West Philly for several years. Opening our 2nd location here in West Philly is truly amazing and we are proud to be a part of this community. This neighborhood is a very special place and we are truly honored to be here. We think our concept will fit nicely on Baltimore Ave,” Adam added.
In addition to launching a new location, Adam and his staff has also launched their new Vinyl Bar. “The Vinyl Bar is an extension of Milkcrate Cafe that is currently open from 8pm-12am on Fridays and Saturdays but will be expanding hours to 5pm-12am Wednesday through Saturday in the near future. The Vinyl Bar features beer, wine, and craft cocktails and DJ’s spinning vinyl through a vintage audiophile hi-fi system,” Adam describes. The Vinyl bar will also host events including the upcoming record release party for Emily Robb on October 14th.
