South Street’s WIM Cafe is Rebranding to Forîn Cafe and Will Host a Release Party in Celebration of the Expansion

Several months after acquiring WIM Cafe, located within Yowie Hotel, the Forîn team of Seth Kligerman, Kyle Horne, and Will Landicho are rebranding the cafe to Forîn, which will become the brand’s third location, and first outside of the Fishtown/Kensington area. The switch will be made official on Friday, February 7th with a release party from 6 to 9 p.m. at the new Forîn at 226 South Street. The cafe will continue to be open seven days a week beginning at 7 a.m. on weekdays, and 8 a.m. on weekends.

The space will take on the classic Forîn aesthetic, with vintage speakers and the brand’s infamous green and white paint job, along with local retail adorning the space. Chef Ariel Tobing, the Indonesian-American chef formerly of Poi Dog and Musi, will bring his creativity and inspiration to the new location with a menu featuring quick breakfast options with Southeast Asian influence. Tobing took over as chef for the Forîn brand last March. Forîn will also bring new beverage flavors to South Street, from their single origin drip coffee to their miso caramel latte and more.

“We took over WIM operationally several months ago, and were waiting to change the brand to Forîn in the new year once we were ready,” said Kligerman. “We are really proud to continue to expand and we’re excited to be on South Street while working with Yowie Hotel & Shop, while also continuing to offer the best coffee options in the city.”

Community and programming will play a large role at the new location, with Forîn activating the space by tapping in local artists and creatives to offer unique experiences to the neighborhood. The space will begin to see vendor pop-ups, chef takeovers, community runs, and more in the coming months.

The Forîn Release Party will feature food and drink in collaboration with Kiki Aranita’s Poi Dog, music by Cubby, and other local vendors. There will also be vinyl records with Impressions Philadelphia, extended hours for Yowie Shop, and more.
