Insomnia Cookies Is Opening a Location at Philadelphia International Airport This Spring as Part of PHL’s “Founded in Philly” Lineup

Travelers passing through Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) will soon have another sweet reason to arrive early or linger a little longer. Insomnia Cookies, the iconic late-night bakery brand known for its warm, gooey cookies and indulgent desserts, is officially joining the airport’s “Founded in Philly” program — a growing initiative that showcases locally rooted businesses to millions of passengers each year.

Set to open in Terminal C in spring 2026, Insomnia Cookies’ debut airport location will be operated by Hakan Ilhan of Airport Dining, the veteran restaurateur behind several of PHL’s most popular dining spots, including Bud & Marilyn’s, Good Luck Restaurant & Bar, and Sabrina’s Cafe. The bakery will sit conveniently near the Terminal C security checkpoint, making it the perfect pre-flight or post-landing treat stop.

Just like its 300+ locations worldwide, the PHL outpost will keep late hours to satisfy every craving, whether passengers are catching red-eye flights or arriving after midnight. The shop will offer Insomnia’s full lineup of:

  • Classic cookies like Chocolate Chunk, Snickerdoodle, and Peanut Butter Chip

  • Deluxe cookies and brownies

  • Cookies IN Ice Cream,” Insomnia’s signature dessert mashup

  • Travel-friendly gift boxes and other grab-and-go sweets

Hours will run from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Monday through Wednesday, and extended to 3 a.m. Thursday through Saturday — ensuring there’s never a wrong time for a cookie.

Insomnia Cookies is one of Philadelphia’s many original business success stories, and we’re thrilled to see them serving up their delicious cookies to travelers,” said Kate Sullivan, Chief Commercial Officer for the Department of Aviation. “As a brand that started just miles from the airport, Insomnia embodies Philly’s entrepreneurial spirit and adds even more local flavor to our concessions program.”

The new location marks another milestone for PHL’s Founded in Philly program, which spotlights homegrown culinary and retail talent in partnership with MarketPlace PHL. The initiative has already welcomed several beloved local names, including Middle Child, Federal Donuts & Chicken, Elixr Coffee Roasters, and Oyster House — turning the airport into a true showcase of Philadelphia’s diverse dining scene.

Passengers love exploring local favorites when they pass through PHL, and Insomnia Cookies will be a perfect addition to our growing ‘Founded in Philly’ offerings,” said Mel Hannah, Vice President and General Manager of MarketPlace PHL. “This new location brings one of Philly’s most beloved late-night traditions to travelers from around the world.”

From College Dream to Global Brand

Founded in 2003 by then–University of Pennsylvania student Seth Berkowitz, Insomnia Cookies began as a simple idea: warm cookies delivered late at night to hungry college students. That small concept has since grown into an international sensation with over 300 locations and ambitious plans to reach 1,800 bakeries globally within the next decade.

Despite its global expansion, Insomnia remains deeply connected to its roots. Its headquarters, global flagship bakery, and innovation hub are all still based in Philadelphia, serving as a constant reminder of where it all started.

Philadelphia is our hometown, and we’re excited to bring our warm, delicious cookies to Philadelphia International Airport,” said Seth Berkowitz, CEO and Founder of Insomnia Cookies. “This partnership is an important step in our mission to reach Insomniacs wherever they are — whether that’s on a college campus, downtown, or now, right before takeoff.”

With its arrival at PHL, Insomnia Cookies joins a long list of local favorites redefining the airport dining experience. The expansion aligns perfectly with PHL’s ongoing effort to offer travelers authentic Philly flavors and support local businesses — while giving everyone one more reason to enjoy a late-night treat before or after their flight.

Whether you’re boarding early or landing late, this spring you can follow the smell of freshly baked cookies to Terminal C — and discover why Insomnia Cookies has been keeping Philly up past midnight for over 20 years.
