Federal Donuts & Chicken Is Opening a New South Philly Flagship Shop This Week
On Thursday, March 7th, Federal Donuts & Chicken will open Wolf Street, the company’s new South Philadelphia flagship located at 22 Wolf Street at the intersection of Wolf and S. Swanson streets(the Packer Ave exit off of 95S). In January, Federal Donuts & Chicken closed its original location on 2nd Street to make way for this expansive new store.
The new Wolf Street location will offer $1 Hot Coffee with the purchase of a Hot Fresh donut (flavored Cinnamon Brown Sugar, Strawberry Lavender, or Cookies N Cream) between 7am – 11am from March 7th – 17th (Opening Day – St. Patrick’s Day). The first 50 customers on opening day will also receive an exclusive tee-shirt.
Also extra special to the Federal Donuts & Chicken menu at Wolf Street and all stores, March 1st – 8th, is the “Porter’s Peep”, a limited-release Fancy donut designed by 12 year-old Porter, an inspiring Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia patient. The fancy donut, a flavor-profile designed personally by Porter, is the company’s classic spiced cake donut with milk chocolate glaze, marshmallow glaze ring, and blue & yellow sprinkles. $1 per donut will be donated to CHOP’s greatest area of need.
Down at the shop, Wolf Street will offer seating for up to 24 guests at dining tables and counter seating. It is also home to an R&D kitchen for the newly franchising hometown favorite, making it more possible for Federal Donuts & Chicken to continue to diversify its meal offerings. Highlights of the Wolf Street menu include the Early Bird Sandwich (a breakfast sandwich of steamed & fried egg with Cooper Sharp cheese, bacon, cherry pepper relish and a hand-battered chicken tender on a potato roll), the ultra-delicious Fig Mascarpone Fancy donut, and Espresso beverages (Cappuccino, Latte, Cortado and Espresso) now served with the option to make it Vanilla, Hazelnut, Mocha, or Caramel.
Alongside the aforementioned Fig Mascarpone, opening day’s Fancy Donut menu will include Baklava, Banana Pancake, Chocolate Peanut Butter Oat, Pomegranate Nutella, & Lemon Bar.
In other timely location updates, while the company is making plans for a larger and more accessible location in the University City neighborhood, the Federal Donuts & Chicken food truck is now popping up every Tuesday at Drexel Square (30th & JFK streets) serving breakfast and lunch from 8am – 2pm. Wolf Street hours are 7am – 3pm (to start), 7 days.
