CRY BABY PASTA IS HOSTING A ONE NIGHT KOO ZEE DOO PORTUGUESE POP UP DINNER
Cry Baby Pasta, located at 627 S. 3rd Street in Queen Village, announces a special Koo Zee Doo Portuguese Pop Up Dinner this Monday, October 21, 2019, with seatings between 6:30pm and 8:30pm. Chefs David Gilberg and Carla Goncalves, the culinary duo at Cry Baby Pasta, will take over the Cry Baby Pasta kitchen for one special night and bring back dishes from the acclaimed Three Bell rated restaurant with family-style flavors and dishes from Goncalves’ home country of Portugal.
The couple recently traveled to her hometown in Portugal in late summer and can’t wait to share their love of Porteguese food with Philadelphia. Owner and local wine expert Paul Rodriguez will pair the course with Porteguese wine selections. The tasting dinner is $55 per person, plus an option $35 wine pairing. Cry Baby Pasta is normally closed on Monday nights but will open for this special event for one Monday only. Cry Baby Pasta is also now available on Mondays and during weekend day-time hours for special events, private parties and other special occasions.

farmer’s cheese, salt cod croquettes, lupini beans
Moelas & Fricassê de polvo
braised chicken gizzard & octopus gravy
Salada de cores & Meia desfeita
chopped salad, salt cod, chickpeas, egg, broccoli rabe, olives
Carne de porco à Alentejana
pork and clams, crispy potatoes
Bolo de bolacha & Chocolate
coffee soaked wafers, buttercream & chocolate

Koo Zee Doo was a Portuguese-inspired BYOB located in Fishtown that opened in 2009. The menu inspired by Goncalves mother’s recipes, with the couple adding their own direction and twist to the recipes. At Koo Zee Doo, Goncalves was famous for her pastry, desserts and breads. She will make all the bread and pastry for this special one-night only event – as she does for Cry Baby Pasta. Koo Zee Doo, a phonetic spelling of “cozido,” is the Portuguese word for cooked.
