Backyard Cravings Will Be Hosting a Multi-Course Wagyu Cheesesteak Dinner at Joseph’s Pizza Parlor

What started as a passion for food soon turned into a viral sensation. Sal Burgese, the creator of Backyard Cravings become a hit with foodies throughout the region and rose through the cheesesteak rankings with his fresh homemade rolls and premium cuts, becoming one of the best in the city. Now Sal is looking to put a twist on his cheesesteaks by teaming-up with Joseph’s Pizza Parlor (7947 Oxford Ave.) to create a multi-course wagyu cheesesteak dinner, “The American Wagyu Cheesesteak Event” on June 28th from 7-9 pm.

Joseph’s is no stranger to this event having already hosted a couple of wagyu cheesesteak dinners but this marks the first time they partnered with an outside maker. Wagyu which is widely considered the world’s most luxurious beef combined with Philly’s most iconic dish makes for a sold out event each time, making the wagyu cheesesteak dinner a bucket list meal for any true foodie.

So how did this event come about? Well, because of Sal’s fresh baked rolls. “We met at an Eagles tailgate where he was serving sandwiches on his rolls and I was serving sandwiches on my focaccia so it was kind of a low key bread battle and we have been talking dough, rolls, pizza & food ever since,” states Mattew Yeck, owner of Joseph’s Pizza Parlor.

Guests will get to enjoy:

  • 2 appetizers: Calabrian Chile Tomato Pie & Wagyu Beef Meatball
  • American Wagyu Cheesesteak on Backyard Cravings Roll with Cooper Sharp Cheese
  • Dessert: Warm Summer Berry Cobbler with Vanilla Ice Cream
