Coca-Cola Will Be Bringing Their Big Rig and Santa to South Street for the Inaugural Night Market & Tree Lighting
The holiday season officially begins on November 22, when the first-ever Holiday Night Market transforms South Street into a festive wonderland filled with lights, music, food, and local shopping. Starting at 5:00 p.m at 2nd & South Street, the evening will feature the ceremonial tree lighting, a gift-shopping bazaar, and a visit from Santa Claus himself, kicking off what promises to become one of Philadelphia’s newest holiday traditions.
As Santa arrives in a 73-foot decorated caravan, visitors can head to the North Pole Express table to write and send letters to the big man himself before meeting him in person. Guests can then pose for free holiday photos with Santa, made possible through a partnership with Coca-Cola. Photos will be available digitally and as printed keepsakes by scanning an on-site QR code.
Families will also enjoy a kids’ winter craft table, while adults can warm up with hot beverages from Costa Coffee or try the four-flavor Coke tasting experience. To make the evening even cozier, Shotz of Love will host a fire pit and s’mores station, perfect for gathering around with friends and family.
The Holiday Night Market will host 16+ local vendors and small businesses, offering an ideal opportunity for early holiday shopping. From handmade jewelry and unique fragrances to gourmet food and festive apparel, there’s something for everyone on your list. Participating vendors include:
- Urban Princess Boutique
- Paddy Whacks Pub

In addition to shopping and food, the evening will be hosted by Jay the Gentleman of Wooder Ice and filled with entertainment including holiday music, and a live DJ, creating a lively soundtrack for the festivities.
“This event is all about community,” organizers shared. “It’s a celebration of South Street’s local businesses and a way for Philadelphians to come together to kick off the holiday season in one of the city’s most iconic neighborhoods.”
