Chef Carlos Aparicio Will Be Opening El Chingon Fishtown at the Former Heffe Tacos Location
Fishtown is about to be home to another acclaimed chef. On Wednesday June 18th, James Beard-nominated Chef Carlos Aparicio, will be opening the doors of El Chingon Fishtown which will be located at 1431 Frankford Ave. (former location of Heffe Tacos).
“I’m excited to expand El Chingón to a second location, and Fishtown’s vibrant community is the ideal location,” says Chef Aparicio. “We’ve always had fans in the neighborhood who ordered delivery from South Philly. Now, they can walk down the block and enjoy our cuisine fresh from the grill in a fun outdoor setting.”
Guests can expect many of El Chingon’s top bites reimagined to fit laid back vibes, including:
- Signature Cemitas including Al Pastor, Birria, and the stacked Cubana
- Varieties of Tacos from Quesabirrias to Choriqueso and vegan-friendly Hongos al Ajillo
- Flavor-packed Starters like street-style Elote, Choripapas, and a bright, herbaceous vegan Aguachile
- House made Sweets like Arroz con Tres Leches and rotating Conchas
In addition Chef Aparicio’s will be bringing his signature Sourdough Flour Tortilla Program as well.
Later this season, El Chingón Fishtown will roll out a series of pop-ups dubbed Jardin de Agave featuring award-winning craft spirits from Bluebird Distilling, Brunch, DJ nights, and more neighborhood-friendly programming.
