Little Walter’s Is Hosting a 1 Year Anniversary With All-You Can-Eat Food, Boozy Water Ice, & Live Entertainment

That’s right, it’s already been one year since owner/Chef Michael Brenfleck opened the door to his contemporary Polish restaurant and bar at 2049 E Hagert St. To celebrate, Little Walter’s will be hosting a One Year Anniversary Party on Thursday, June 26 from 6pm – 11pm featuring all-you-can-eat Polish classic fare, boozy water ice, live entertainment, and more.

Recognized twice by The New York Times as one of America’s best restaurants and best dishes in 2024, Little Walter’s is planning a proper celebration for all those that supported them throughout the year.

The One Year Anniversary Party will include an assortment of seasonal all-you-can-eat stationed and passed fare, in addition to live entertainment, a welcome cocktail of Kotktajl Powitalny crafted with sour cherry nalewka and sparkling wine, and Polish water ice with local strawberries infused with bison grass vodka titled Lód Wodny z Kolcami.

“When I first had the idea of Little Walter’s in mind years ago, I could have never imagined just how impactful and rewarding the first year would turn out to be,” said Michael Brenfleck, Chef/Owner of Little Walter’s. “We’re thrilled to celebrate such a full and prosperous year with our incredible neighbors and the community at large, as well as our friends, loved ones, and even new diners. We’re excited to continue to grow and create memorable experiences for every person who joins us – whether for a drink and plate of pierogi at the bar or a full-service, chef’s tasting.”

Attendees can expect bites such as such as Zapiekanka, a selection of sourdough rye toast including Twaróg (warm farmers cheese, grilled peaches, black walnut), Smalec (pork lard spread, caramelized spring onions, pickles), and Sledzie (herring, pickled rhubarb, horsey sauce, roe); Surówka, a selection of raw and pickled vegetable salads such as Mizeria (creamy cucumber salad and lots of dill); Burówka (beet and turnip slaw); and Pomidrowa (heirloom tomatoes, garlic scapes, mint); and Kiełbasa i Wędliny, a selection of house-made sausage and charcuterie including Mortadela (pork offal, pork fat, black walnuts), Kabonosy (pork snack stick, black pepper, caraway), and Krakowska (ham, brisket, nutmeg and garlic).

Brenfleck’s assortment of passed hors d’oeuvres for the one-night-only event includes the following:

Strzelcy Ostryg — oyster and pickle soup shooters
Pierogi Ruskie — potato and farmer cheese, caramelized onion and sour cream
Kiełbasa — dill pickles and horseradish mustard
Pierogi z Kwiatami — squash blossom and zucchini, and cashew butter
Kotlet z Kurczaka — chicken cutlet babka sliders, and buttermilk ranch
Małe Gołabki — mini rolled cabbage, foie gras, farro, and żubr sauce

The One Year Anniversary Party will be $50 per person and includes all-you-can-eat food, one welcome cocktail, boozy water ice, and live entertainment, with additional beverages available for purchase à la carte. Tickets can be purchased via EventBrite.
