Maybe it was the rain, maybe you had plans, or maybe you just weren’t sold on this year’s Made in America festivities. Well, to be clear thousands of pair of shoes were tossed in the garbage after what was the muddies event in Philadelphia history. However, if the rain and messy fields didn’t hinder your spirits than we’re pretty sure you had the time of your life.
The line-up for this year’s Made in America had a healthy mix of new wave artists as well as some veterans sprinkled in. The majority came for the big acts such as The Chain Smokers, Marshmello, Kaskade, J-Cole, and of course Jay-Z. However, if you had an eclectic palate for music, there were some awesome acts across all genres. From the country twang of Carter Winter, to the African vibes of Maleek Berry and the melodic sounds of Jorja Smith, there was something for everyone.
Of course the climatic and most memorable moment was saved for last. In a classic Jay-Z fashion, there was an extra treat for patient fans. As his primary set came to an end and thanked everyone for coming out, the lights grew dim. As many concert goers were shuffling their muddy kicks towards their final destination of the night, an eerie calm grew over the crowd. Then out of no where, turn table scratches pierced their air and like a stampeded running from a nature disaster, folks pushed and shoved their way to The Liberty Stage.
Those patient enough to stick around were treated to some of Jay-Z’s classic hits along with a special guest performance by Philly’s own Meek Mill. Now I could type all day about how dope this year’s Made in America was, but I’ll let our recap video speak for itself. Check it out!
