March Madness equals a heck of a good time to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day like an Irishman. Across the United States people will bring in the holiday by wearing leprechaun hats, shamrock glasses, drinking green beer and wearing t-shirts with the famous “Kiss me, I’m Irish!” slogan. With all things green and shamrock, pretty much every city in the USA will hold a celebration and parades for this holiday. No matter if you’re Irish or not, St. Patrick’s Day has something for everyone to go out and have a good time.

Chicago, IN

No other place in the U.S. does St. Patrick’s Day like “Chi-Town.” It’s been known to attract people from all over the globe because it’s the closet thing you’ll ever get to being in Ireland. Since the 1960s the Irish tradition has had party goers hopping from bar to bar in celebration of the event. Every St. Paddy’s Day, Chicago dye’s the Chicago River emerald green for the sake of this beloved holiday. Not only do people come from all over the world to see the infamous green river but to see the Chicago St. Patrick’s Day Parade which marches through Columbus Drive and turns in a street party.

Boston, MA

This city is known for its long standing and strong Irish heritage. People from Boston and visitors begin partying in Boston’s South neighborhood a week before to bring in the festivities such as bar crawls, concerts and or course the big parade. The Boston parade is actually one of nation’s biggest parade celebrations. You won’t want to miss out on this greenish action.

No one does big like the big apple. The New York City St. Patrick’s Day parade is the oldest and largest in the nation which includes bag pipers and Irish string bands going down Fifth Avenue. It’s sure to please children and adults alike. But the best part of celebrating St. Paddy’s Day in the city, is the countless amount of Irish pubs and bars to make you feel the “Luck of the Irish.”

The City of Angels becomes The City of Leprechauns and Lucky Charms. During St. Paddy’s Day, LA hosts events such as the LA County Irish Fair, a Music and an Irish Food Festival to celebrate the warmth of this West Coast party.

Savannah, GA

This down south state, holds the second largest St. Patrick’s Day parade in the nation. People drape down in all green and tailgate before the parade to party for the day. Not only do the people drape down in all green, but the city’s fountains spurts out shamrock green for the attraction. They also have a food and music festivals to give you that Irish kind a vibe.
