Cantina La Martina and Vientiane Bistro Team Up for One-Day Lao, Thai, and Mexican Culinary Collaboration
Here’s a chance to experience a unique cross-cultural dining event this June as Cantina La Martina and Vientiane Bistro join forces for a special one-day pop-up blending the flavors of Laos, Thailand, and Mexico.
Dubbed Cantina La Vientiane, the collaboration will take place on Tuesday, June 2, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. (or until sold out) at Vientiane Bistro in Kensington (2537 Kensington Ave).
The event brings together two of Philadelphia’s most celebrated restaurants, each known for showcasing authentic flavors and culinary traditions. For one day only, guests can enjoy a collaborative menu that merges the bold, vibrant tastes of Mexican cuisine with the aromatic and spice-forward influences of Lao and Thai cooking.
The pop-up also serves as a homecoming of sorts for the team behind Cantina La Martina. Organizers intentionally selected a Tuesday for the event, recognizing the many loyal patrons who once made Tuesday afternoons at Cantina La Martina a weekly tradition.
Guests can expect a menu created specifically for the collaboration, highlighting the creativity and shared culinary spirit of both restaurants while offering dishes that cannot be found on either restaurant’s regular menu.
No reservations are being taken for this event and it is walk-in only, with both dine-in and takeout options available (first come, first served). Guests are also welcome to bring their own beverages.
With two acclaimed kitchens combining their talents for a single day, Cantina La Vientiane promises to be one of the summer’s most exciting food events for adventurous diners looking to experience an unexpected fusion of Southeast Asian and Mexican flavors.
