Best Places To Travel In 2015

Now that the New Year has officially began, it’s time to start planning for your 2015 trips. Where will you go this year? As the world seems to be getting smaller the chance of having a remarkable experience is increasing. In an effort to get your travel adventures jump-started I developed a list of the best places to travel in 2015.  These destinations are based on what’s brewing in the news and latest trends.  Some are changing the world relations such as Cuba working with the U.S. to permit Americans to visit or Philadelphia making an outdoor oasis.

Cuba

Cuba has long been the forbidden island for Americans looking to explore the country, but not for long. The United States is currently working with Cuba on new foreign policies.  Americans will now be able to visit Cuba. This change will open opportunities for both Cubans and Americans, economically and socially. The travel industry is embracing this new Caribbean oasis that is under developed with glittering sandy beaches and untouched classic olds mobiles that are still in perfect condition. Also the government is allowing new venues to open in Havana to make it Cuba’s prime destination.

 

Philadelphia

In 2014 new projects have been popping all over the city making it an outdoor oasis.  The Schuylkill River now has it’s own boardwalk which allows you to stroll over the river and enjoy downtown Philadelphia’s city skyline. The Delaware River waterfront also opened Spruce Street Harbor outfitted with hammocks, a beer garden, and plenty of activities. In addition they reinvented Blue Cross RiverRink now boasts a Winterfest which produces entertainment and live shows. Visitors can now enjoy fire pits, pop up bar, game room and dining all while enjoying a night out ice skating. Also, Dilworth Park opened this fall in front of city hall which is a public friendly place with; public art, a beer garden and ice skating in the winter. But that’s not all, this spring Philadelphia will have bike share which is a network of public bikes to get you around the city more efficiently.

 

Singapore

Many people may not know this but Singapore is turning 50 in 2015. This new up and coming city is pulling out all it’s cards to show the world how they like to celebrate. In February, they will be hosting the Chingay Parade which features thousands of colorfully and vibrant performances. Also the National Gallery Singapore opens which will house one the world’s largest Southeast Asian art collections. Not to mention the National Day parade will take place at the actually site where Singapore declared it’s independence and celebrating it’s 50th birthday.

 

Bolivia

Finally it’s open to the world to explore more effectively and friendly. With all its new attractions opening up, Bolivia will now find tourism pouring into the country. An official street food tour in La Paz was launched by Suma Phayata allowing visitors and locals alike to taste buds going wild. For wine lovers, there will also be a wine tasting in the Tarija region. Let’s not leave out the adventure excursions, coffee farms in Yungas region and exploring Salar de Uyuni which is the world’s largest salt flats.

 

Orlando

Of course everyone comes to Orlando to visit Mickey Mouse and his crew but there’s more to Orlando than Disney World. The magical destination will always remain Orlando’s landmark; however, over the years it has expanded. It is not just about the theme parks but also reinventing its performing arts. The Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Center has opened up and the culinary art scene is booming in Orlando with new up and coming non food chain restaurants all over the city. We can’t talk about Orlando without theme parks being involved. The Four Seasons Resorts Orlando at Walt Disney World has opened a new golf course, rooftop bar and an adults pool. Disney is also working on expanding it’s Downtown Disney for more shops and restaurants. Orlando is also participating in professional soccer with opening up it’s first soccer stadium set to open sometime this year. –  Shawnick Rodriguez
