Brauhaus Schmitz Brings Munich to Philly and South Jersey With Three Oktoberfest Celebrations
Brauhaus Schmitz is once again bringing the atmosphere of Munich to the Philadelphia region, announcing three major Oktoberfest events taking place across South Jersey and Philadelphia this fall. Known for creating some of the area’s most authentic Oktoberfest experiences, the South Street beer hall expects thousands of visitors to raise a stein at celebrations spanning from September 20 through October 11, 2025.
Oktoberfest on the Square – South Jersey’s Largest Celebration
The festivities begin with the 8th Annual Oktoberfest on the Square on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Haddon Square Pop Up Garden, 51 Haddon Ave, Westmont, NJ. Partnering with Keg & Kitchen, Brauhaus will transform the space with a massive tent, Bavarian décor, and imported benches. Guests can enjoy giant steins of German beer, a pig roast, German specialties, and live music from This Way to the Egress. The event is family-friendly, free to attend, and pay-as-you-go for food and drinks.
South Street Oktoberfest – A Philadelphia Tradition
On Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., the 17th Annual South Street Oktoberfest returns to the 700 block of South Street. Drawing nearly 10,000 attendees each year, this free festival transforms South Street into an open-air celebration with seating for over 1,000 in a massive biergarten. Visitors can enjoy live Oom-pah music, German dancers, Bavarian food, games, face painting, schnapps, and the popular Liter Lift competition. VIP upgrades are available, providing access to the exclusive Brauer Bund area, with a buffet, private bathrooms, beer tokens, and limited-edition Oktoberfest merchandise.
23rd Street Armory Oktoberfest – One of the Most Authentic in the U.S.
The season culminates with the 7th Annual 23rd Street Armory Oktoberfest, running October 10–11, 2025, with three ticketed sessions at the 23rd Street Armory, 22 South 23rd Street. The 16,000-square-foot venue will be transformed into a Munich-style beer hall with authentic décor, imported festival seating, and live music by Die Heimatklänge and The Bratwurst Boys. Food will be prepared by Brauhaus Schmitz and beer provided by Hofbräuhaus München.
Tickets are required and limited, with general admission starting at $30 and tiered VIP and Uber VIP packages available, including reserved seating, exclusive buffets, liters of beer, and souvenirs. The Armory Oktoberfest is strictly 21 and older.
“Philadelphia is one of the best cities in America to celebrate Oktoberfest season,” said Brauhaus Schmitz owner Doug Hager. “We’ve hosted Oktoberfest for 17 years now, and over 100,000 people have celebrated with us at South Street, the Armory, and Haddon Square. We’re back this year and bigger than ever.”
