Nine of Philly’s Best Bartenders Will Go Head-to-Head for the Crown at Dirty Rocks Cocktail Competition at Fringe Bar
Philly’s only crowd-judged cocktail competition is back. Dirty Rocks returns on Sunday, August 2 at Fringe Bar (140 N Christopher Columbus Blvd) on the Old City waterfront — doors open at 3 PM.
The format is straightforward: nine Philadelphia bartenders each create one original cocktail. No judges, no panel, no industry insiders deciding the outcome. Every ticket comes with votes. Guests taste, pick their favorite, cast their votes, and watch the winner get crowned live in front of the room.
Last edition sold out in four days. This time the competition moves into Fringe Bar’s waterfront garden under the Ben Franklin Bridge, with capacity expanded to meet demand.

In addition to the cocktail competition, the afternoon features a DJ, ice luge, raffle, and food by Fringe. Drinks are not included with admission but are heavily discounted throughout the event, with Patrón available in both tasting and full-size portions.
General Admission includes entry, discounted drinks all event, and votes. VIP adds more votes, a welcome drink upon arrival, and a gift bag. Prices increase as capacity fills. Tickets are available on Eventbrite.
A portion of proceeds benefits the KB Foundation, and every Dirty Rocks event hires paid KB mentees — giving young Philadelphians real hospitality experience working alongside industry professionals. Guests can add a donation at checkout.
Worth noting: Dirty Rocks takes place the same day as the 2nd Street Festival just a few blocks away, making August 2 one of the more activity-packed Sundays Philadelphia has seen this summer.
