The 2016 Philly Hip Hop Awards Recap

This past Sunday it was a hip hop takeover at the TLA.  Philly’s hottest artists, producers, promoters, directors, and just about everyone that has a hand in the culture were being recognized.  The annual Philly Hip Hop Awards which is now in its 6th year, has been growing each year.

This year over 30 categories were presented for a night filled with celebration.  Each year nominees create a body of work that influences the hip hop culture, which never goes unnoticed.  The industry professionals at Urban Celebrity Magazine vote for the best in each field.

Obviously local legends and celebs come out to accept their awards as well as be nominated. Aside from those that are constantly in the spotlight, the lesser seen yet just as impactful individuals are also in attendance including artist managers, DJs, and radio personalities.  For one night out of the year every Philly hip hop fan has an event to call their own and are provided a chance to support those pushing the culture forward.
