The Oval on the parkway (in front of the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art) has become a summertime staple in Philly. Over the years the pop-up park which has featured beer gardens, a Ferris wheel, movies, virtual domes and more. Now the fun returns this summer and they are kicking things off  with a free concert dubbed Out of Sight at The Oval.

On July 7th from 6:30-10 pm, SNACKTIME, Philadelphia’s much-loved brass-heavy band rocking funk, punk, jazz, pop, and R&B influences, will be performing. In addition attendees will also enjoy the sounds of notable Philly DJ, DJ Killsing and rap artist Eshu Tune, otherwise known for his acting and comedy as Hannibal Buress.

The event is held in partnership with the Parkway Council as part of its “Parkway Presents” series and marks the return of the much-loved The Oval pop-up park, presented by WSFS Bank, which will run through August 20, 2023.

“It’s all about getting the community outside and grooving together,” said SNACKTIME co-founder Sam Gellerstein, “Philly’s been through a lot in 2023 and we’re only half way through. I think we could all benefit from busting out dance moves, going a little stupid, and getting really funky.”

Guests will be able to buy bites from multiple food trucks that will be on premises. The Oval’s 21,000-foot beer garden is once again being managed by MilkBoy, the iconic Philadelphia brand known for booze, bites, and music, and will feature a curated selection of brews, plus pastries and nonalcoholic drinks courtesy of Forîn Café. Out of Sight at The Oval is free to attend with no advanced registration required.
