Spirit & Sound: A Night With Antoine Dodson Comes to Fringe Bar

Fringe Bar, located at 140 N. Christopher Columbus Blvd., will host “Spirit & Sound: A Night with Antoine Dodson” on Friday, August 28, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. The event will feature live R&B and hip-hop music, with vocalist Antoine Dodson leading a program organizers describe as an exploration of Black music’s influence on American culture.

The evening will be hosted by Jay The Gentleman, and local hip-hop group Code Grey will open the night, blending underground rap and soul.

Dodson said the event is intended to highlight the breadth of genres shaped by Black artists. “Black music has never been limited to just one genre,” Dodson said, adding that many genres considered staples of American culture were founded by Black artists and that the night will celebrate those genres and the artists behind them.
