The Kimchi Festival Returns to Love Park With Kimchi-Making Workshops, Live Performances, Vendors, and More
The Kimchi Festival returns to Love Park this fall for a two-day cultural celebration on Saturday, September 27, and Sunday, September 28, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The annual event puts Korea’s most famous dish front and center while offering Philadelphians a chance to experience food, art, music, and tradition in one place.
This year’s theme, “Tasting Korean Culture, Growing Future,” reflects the festival’s mission: to share the richness of Korean culture while building stronger connections across communities. Organizers highlight food as the ultimate connector, bringing people together to learn, communicate, and celebrate.
Despite inclement weather last year, the Kimchi Festival still drew over 5,500 visitors. This year, with an expanded two-day schedule, organizers expect more than 7,000 attendees of all ages and backgrounds.
The 2025 festival will feature a packed lineup of performances and interactive programs, including:
-
Kimchi Workshop ($20, advance registration required at kimchifestival@kculfoundation.org; up to 4 people per application)
-
Traditional Korean Dance
-
Taekwondo Demonstrations
-
K-Pop Dance Performance
-
Korean Drumming (Modumbuk and Knbuk)
-
Hanbok Fashion Show
-
Jazz Concert
Both days will also feature ongoing opportunities to engage with Korean culture:
-
Free food tasting
-
Kimchi, Art & Craft Market
-
Hanbok try-on experience
-
Free folding paper fan workshop
-
Free Makgeolli tasting (traditional Korean rice wine)
-
Traditional games like Jegichagi, Yutnori, and Ttakjichigi
-
Korean calligraphy demonstrations
What began just two years ago as a small kimchi workshop paired with a cultural performance has since grown into one of Philly’s most popular cultural gatherings. Today, the festival brings together dance, music, K-pop, folk traditions, and food for a vibrant celebration of heritage and community.
The 2025 Kimchi Festival at Love Park is free to attend, with some workshops requiring advance registration. All are invited to join, taste, and experience Korean culture in the heart of Philly.
