It’s back! The one food festival that combines my two favorite foods, burgers and tacos!  Taking place at Xfinity Live on Sunday June 3rd from 2-6 pm, the Burger Brawl and Taco Takedown will feature restaurants presenting their versions of Philadelphia’s best burgers & tacos. The festival will also feature a cutthroat cocktail competition from more than 50 contenders.

General admission is $45 and features unlimited burgers and tacos as well as two drink tickets. For $100 you can get early entrance, private VIP area. first class open bar, and unlimited burgers and tacos.

Prizes will be awarded for the People’s Choice winner in each category, so every attendee’s vote counts. A panel of food media judges will also determine winners. Entercom Philadelphia is the official media partner and Former Eagles fullback and current SportsRadio 94WIP host Jon Ritchie will serve as the Master of Ceremonies.

The event began eight years ago as a neighborhood fundraiser for founders Rob and Maggie Wasserman’s children’s school, The William M. Meredith Elementary School, in South Philadelphia.  The festival got so wildly popular that it was eventually moved in 2014 moved to the XFINITY Live! Complex.

More than 3,000 people attend and more than 50 restaurants participate annually. To date, Burger Brawl has raised more than $200,000 and funded numerous projects supporting literacy for the School District of Philadelphia, determined by their partners from the Fund for the School District of Philadelphia.

As far as entertainment, Entercom Philadelphia’s 92.5 WXTU has arranged for the event to be an Official Tour Stop and private concert by country music singer, songwriter, and reality television personality Chase Rice.  Opening act will be South Jersey native and 925XTU Unplugged Winner Shawn Christie, who recently played at the 34th XTU Anniversary Show featuring Dierks Bentley.
