The 2021 Blue Cross Broad Street Run is Now Taking Place in October!
Runners rejoice, Philly’s most popular run, the Blue Cross Broad Street has been set to return on Sunday October 10th at 8 am. The announcement was made via the official IG account.
The 10 mile run which started back in 1980 draws 40,000 runners and is dubbed the “the largest, fastest and most popular 10-mile race in the country.” As we all know the race was postponed last year due to the pandemic then held virtually. However, it’s now back live and in person.
So who gets to run? Well it looks like all 2020 lottery winners are guaranteed a spot but must register. Registration begins Thursday July 15th and will close on July 29th. If any all spots are not filled by the close of registration then a limited lottery will be held to fill in the remaining places.
If for whatever reason a lottery winner from 2020 cannot run this year they are given the option to defer to 2022. Lottery winners may also transfer bibs for this year’s race to another runner.
