Start Your Engines: The Viral Tokyo Karts are On a U.S Tour and are Making a Pit Stop in Philly
If you follow or seen travel content from influencers then chances are that you came across the viral Tokyo Karts. Modeled after the popular game Mario Kart, the Tokyo Karts allow drivers to race through the streets of Shibuya.
Now for the first time ever, the Tokyo Karts are coming to Philly and bringing the adrenaline-pumping thrill of Tokyo’s iconic go-karting experience with them. According to the entertainment company Sellout Tickets, the Philly Tokyo Kart experience will take place October 4th & 5th on Columbus Boulevard. Yes, we know it seems like so far away but slots are expected to fill out fast.
There will be only 20 karts per session with time slots running from 9 am to 9 pm. Tickets to Tokyo Karts are $65 and can be found at sellout-tickets.com/event/ticket/booking/tokyo-karts-us-tour-philadelphia
According to the site each ride will include:
- 60-minute ride
- Free costume rental
- Complimentary photos
- Helmets provided
- Mandatory 15-minute pre-race briefing
- Meeting point shared 48 hours before race time
There is a minimum age of 12 years old to ride (Kart speeds are: 20kmph for those with no license and 40kmph with a license) and a max weight of 300 lbs.
No driver’s license needed (without a license, you’ll be assigned a restricted-speed kart)
As for those wondering if you will be weaving in and out of traffic, Sell Out Tickets stated “For safety reasons, the race will take place on a designated pathway that will be fully closed to regular traffic, as we cannot operate alongside active vehicles. Safety marshals and event staff will be on-site to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience for all participants.”
