Radio Fresca, Sundae, and Subsurface Are Joining Forces for ‘Best Sunday Ever,’ a 10-Hour Party on the Waterfront

On July 19, from 2 PM to Midnight, three of the city’s most respected event collectives — Radio Fresca, Sundae, and Subsurface — are putting aside their individual dates and coming together for one massive, 10-hour open-air celebration at Liberty Point (211 S Christopher Columbus Blvd). They’re calling it Best Sunday Ever — and honestly, the lineup backs that claim up.

The idea came from a place of genuine community spirit. With multiple beloved Sunday parties happening throughout the summer, the three groups noticed their dates were beginning to overlap. Rather than compete, they asked a simple question: what if we just did something together instead?

“Philadelphia has always been a city built on community, and that’s something all of us who curate events truly value,” the organizers shared. “We never want our events to compete because we genuinely want people to experience everything Philadelphia’s music and culture scene has to offer.”

That conversation sparked one of the summer’s most exciting collaborations.

Best Sunday Ever kicks off as a World Cup Finals Watch Party before evolving into a full-scale dance party that runs well into the night. Two open-air stages. Ten hours of music. A sonic journey spanning International, Global, House, Funk, Soul, Latin American, Afro House, Tropical Disco, and Organic House — with something for every kind of dancer and music lover in the crowd.

Custom cocktails are being sponsored by Bacardi and Patrón, alongside the full food menu from Liberty Point. This is a waterfront party done right.

The DJ Lineup

The talent assembled for this one reflects the combined reach and reputation of all three collectives:

Toribio + Micky Perez (Public Service NYC) | Ben Arsenal | Huerta | Menace | John Raffaele + Keen | Francisco Collazo + Lee Jones

Radio Fresca was created by Valerie Teachout, Founder and Creative Director of ExtraBlonde Events, and internationally respected DJ and music curator Ben Arsenal. Inspired by the beach clubs of Tulum, the rhythms of Latin America, and global dance culture, Radio Fresca has grown from a rooftop gathering into a full-blown movement — a space where music isn’t just something you listen to, it’s something you live. The name translates to “Fresh Radio,” representing the constant discovery of new music, cultures, and artists from around the world, brought back home to Philadelphia.

Sundae, built by Francisco Collazo and Lee Jones, is one of Philadelphia’s longest-running dance parties — now 23 years strong. Francisco, raised in Delaware on R&B, funk, freestyle, disco, salsa, and hip-hop, has shared decks with Questlove, Diplo, Black Coffee, Louie Vega, and dozens more across cities from Miami to Mexico City. Sundae has always been about welcoming all ages and all walks of life to one of the most diverse dance floors in the city.

Subsurface, founded by John Raffaele and Keen in Kensington circa 2017, has built a reputation well beyond Philadelphia’s city limits through a dedication to abstract spaces, undiscovered talent, and immersive productions. The duo has played notable underground series across the US and internationally, at festivals like Dimensions and Trotamundo and clubs like Mtkvarze and Umi.
