Over 50 of Philly’s Best Restaurants Will Be Participating In This Year’s Dining Out For Life Fundraiser
Dining Out For Life, the annual Action Wellness fundraising event, is back on Thursday, April 28, 2022. Action Wellness was founded in 1986, when a group of 84 committed volunteers came together in Center City Philadelphia to form a community of care to provide services to people with AIDS. Shortly after, in 1991, the first Dining Out For Life took place. Since then, this event has raised millions of dollars for those living with HIV in the Philadelphia community. Due to the pandemic, the event had to be modified and now two years later, Dining Out For Life is back for a major comeback.
On Thursday, April 28th, participating restaurants will donate a portion of their sales to Action Wellness to help support those living with HIV in the Philadelphia community. Action Wellness knows that these are challenging times for the hospitality industry and that restaurants have faced unprecedented hardships over the past two years so Action Wellness is extremely grateful for the restaurants that are able to participate this year.
For the first time, Action Wellness is hosting Dining Out For Life Trips of a Lifetime Auction. This limited-time virtual auction will help Action Wellness to continue to assist those living with HIV in the Philadelphia community. The trips have been donated by Action Wellness’ Nonprofit partner, AmFund. These bucket list trips are good for three years with no blackout dates. They include deluxe accommodations, roundtrip airfare for two, and a travel specialist to do the booking for you. The auction will be open from Thursday, April 21, 2022 until Friday, April 29, 2022 at 12 p.m. EST. Action Wellness’ clients continue to battle the effects of COVID-19 and Action Wellness continues to support them through this pandemic. The money raised from this event will ensure that all of Action Wellness’ clients do not face their illness or this pandemic alone.
The sponsors for this years Dining Out For Life are the American Fundraising Foundation (AmFund), Avita, Exude, Philadelphia Gay News, Subaru and SunRay. Yard’s Brewing Company is renaming their signature IPA to Action IPA on April 28, 2022. A portion of their sales from the day will be donated to Action Wellness. An exclusive media night for Dining Out For Life is being held beforehand.
