North Broad Will Be Hosting The Summer aBroad Series Featuring a Block Party, Game Night, & More

The North Broad Renaissance (NBR) is proud to announce the return of Summer aBroad, an immersive series of experiences designed to energize North Broad Street with arts, culture, wellness, and community celebration. Running from June 1 through August 31, Summer aBroad offers something for everyone—from augmented reality tours and signature events to exclusive business perks and neighborhood pride.

A centerpiece of the series is the Summer aBroad AR Tour—a self-guided, free, and 24/7 mobile experience that allows users to explore six specially curated stops along North Broad Street. The tour features iconic locations like The Blue Horizon and the whimsical Sea aBroad installation, using augmented reality to bring local stories, art, and history to life right from your phone—anytime, anywhere.

The 2025 Summer aBroad event lineup includes:

Summer aBroad Block Party – July 3
A pre-holiday celebration with food, music, games, and fun for the whole family.

Summer aBroad Game Night – July 23
A retro-themed night of outdoor games, trivia, and community competition.

Summer aBroad Health Fest – August 23
A day of movement, mindfulness, and health-focused vendors promoting wellness for all ages.

Perks & Specials from North Broad Businesses
Throughout the summer, enjoy exclusive deals, giveaways, and pop-up experiences from restaurants, retailers, and service providers along the corridor.

To offer a preview of what’s ahead, North Broad Renaissance will host a Media Kickoff Event on Wednesday, June 12, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at 1415 N. Broad Street. Media representatives are invited to experience the AR Tour firsthand, learn more about the featured events, and receive press materials and interviews with program organizers and community partners.

“Summer aBroads all about showing people that North Broad isn’t just a corridor you pass through—it’s a place where you can spend time, make memories, and really enjoy the summer,” said Shalimar Thomas, Executive Director of the North Broad Renaissance. “We designed this series to position North Broad as a fun, engaging destination for both locals and visitors, with something for everyone to experience.”
