If you have been paying attention to our Local Scoop section then you may have noticed several articles relating to the transformation of N. Broad St. City officials have been working with developers to help revitalize this once bustling section.
In the latest developments, the Civic Design Review Committee has approved Carl Dranoff’s design for the New SLS International Hotel and Residences, which will be located on Broad & Spruce St. Construction is slated to begin soon on this 47 story building that will feature a 590′ water tower. The building will house 150 hotel rooms, 125 residences, as well as a bar & restaurant. According to city officials and engineers the biggest hurdle this project faces is parking. So far the plan is for one underground level of parking. The parking itself will only be available for guests and residents and will operate on a valet system.
Although this is great news for the N. Broad St. corridor, it will be about 2 years before construction is complete.
