MergeArts Kicks off the Summer With the May Edition of The Merge
For our veteran followers The Merge is nothing new. For all of you newbies, here’s the cliffs notes. MergeArts is a local organization that hosts a monthly event where musicians, fashion designers, MUA’s, visual artists and just about every type of position associated with the arts come together and give a multilayer show. This month’s show returns to Rittenhouse’s Coda.
Guests can expect a quality fashion show accompanied by talented local bands as well as a perfect mixture of visual artists. Each event although similar in format seems to always showcase various artists so it’s never the same experience twice. Where other similar events may take place, The Merge is nothing short of a party celebrating art.
Boasting 3 full bars, Coda provides the perfect venue to get the festivities going. Local DJ sensation, DJ Ghost claims the spot as the resident DJ for each MergeArts event. With a knack for scratching and mixing ear pleasing blends, Ghost always knows how to keep the party going.
Doors will promptly open at 7:30 pm and the show runs pretty much all night. Today’s event will feature a very special guest and Philadelphia native Schoolly D.
Other artist you can expect to see are bands Overcoming Gravity and PaperFace, Local fashion houses Wear Liberty, El Leather Wear and Kandichet will rip the costume built runway to show off their latest lines. Those looking for possibly wall art for the home or work, artists Shikha Sabherwal, Skirmantas Pipas and Britta Valles will be on hand to showcase their work.
Overall this is a can’t miss event for art lovers and those who just simply appreciate the arts. For more information contact MergeArts at here.
