Fishtown Is Kicking Off Its Under the El Bazaar Series This Weekend Featuring Local Artists, Musicians, Food, Drinks & Fun
One of Fishtown’s most beloved summer traditions is back. Under the El Bazaar kicks off its 2026 series this Saturday, June 27, from Noon to 6 PM along the 1700 block of North Front Street — and this first installment has a theme that sets the tone perfectly: Chalk of the Town.
Local artists will spend the afternoon creating large-scale chalk masterpieces directly on the pavement, turning the street beneath the El into a vibrant, walkable outdoor gallery. Guests can stroll through, watch the artwork come to life in real time, shop local vendors, catch live music, and let the kids get in on the action at a dedicated chalk area just for them. It’s free to attend, family and dog friendly, with food, drink, and shopping available pay-as-you-go.
“Under the El Bazaar continues to showcase everything that makes Fishtown special — local creativity, small businesses, great food, and a strong sense of community,” said Max Thalheimer, Business Outreach Manager of the Fishtown District.
Some of Fishtown’s favorite spots are setting up outside for the occasion:
- International Bar — Handmade crepes from the outdoor grill
- Percy Diner & Bar — Outdoor pizza station and drink specials
- Evil Genius Beer Company — Beer tent featuring specialty brews, with the Beer Garden open throughout and live music following the Bazaar
- LMNO — Walking tacos and margaritas
- Mecha Noodle Bar — Indoor and outdoor food and drink specials
- Pure Green — Pop-up tent during the event, with a DJ keeping the energy going afterward

This is just the first of three Under the El Bazaar events this summer, with the next two scheduled for Saturday, July 18 and Saturday, August 15. Each month brings a new theme, new vendors, and new surprises — details will be announced at the start of each month.
