Federal Donuts’ Fried Chicken Sandwich Goes Citywide
Federal Donuts (1219 South Second Street, (267) 687-8258; 1632 Sansom Street, (215) 665-1101; 3428 Sansom Street, (267) 275-8489; 701 North Seventh Street; (267) 928-3893) has been soaking up summer at Port FedNuts at Spruce Street Harbor Park (Columbus Boulevard and Spruce Street), serving our first-ever Fried Chicken Sandwich, plus Cinnamon Sugar Mini Donuts and Cold Brewed Iced Coffee.
Reluctant as we are to say goodbye to the sunny season and our shipping container shop on September 27 – we are stoked to finally bring crispy fried chicken sandwich action to all four Federal Donuts locations, beginning Monday, September 14th at 11am.
“The response to our fried chicken sandwich at Port FedNuts was undeniable,” says Federal Donuts chef Matt Fein. “From the day we started serving it, our guests deluged us with requests to add it to the permanent menu.”
Made with a twice-fried boneless chicken breast dusted with buttermilk ranch seasoning, American cheese, Rooster Sauce and dill pickle chips on a Martin’s potato roll, the Fried Chicken Sandwich ($6.75) joins Federal Donuts’ original, inventively seasoned fried chicken ($9.25 half order and $18.50 whole order) noted by Food Network as among the best in America, and by Philadelphia Magazine as Best of Philly, 2014 and 2012.
After September 14, Fried Chicken Sandwiches can be reserved for Pre Order Pickup with at least 24 hours notice, via cooknsolo.com/preorders. All permanent menu items including Hot Fresh Donuts, Fancy Donuts, Fried Chicken and Coffee Travelers can be reserved for pickup at any of our four stores with at least 24 hours’ notice. See the menu and locations at federaldonuts.com.
Sandwiches will also be offered for delivery to Philadelphia homes and businesses via Caviar, from FedNuts West Philadelphia, North Philadelphia and Center City. Enter your address at trycaviar.com for delivery options.
