CVS Changes its name to CVS Health

CVS corporate headquarters have decided to change their name to CVS Health effective immediately.  Although stores and logos will not be altered right away the store has made the change to promote the company’s new branding efforts to showcase it’s health conscious movement.

The change comes fresh off the heels of the CVS Heath’s decision to eliminate the sales of cigarettes at all of its locations. With 7,700 stores currently in operation, the company looks to encourage all of its customers to live a smoke-free life.  The areas behind the registers where cigarettes and other tobacco products were once shelved, will now be replaced with anti-smoking messages as well as nicotine gum.

CVS Health is now leading the pack of health convenience stores including Rite-Aid and Walgreens.  Although, competitors are still selling tobacco products, many have developed walk-in clinics as well as stocking their stores with more products to help kick the smoking habit.
