If you haven’t heard by now, Community in Point Breeze has been hosting their popular Grilling With Friends pop-ups. Each month they feature a different chef for foodies to experience. Now, Chef and Co-owner of Community, Michael Sultan, is Partnering with 4th generation farmer and fellow Point Breeze Resident, Corie Coles, for a special one-night-only Farm to Table grilling event on September 28th from 5 pm to 9 pm. Community, located at S. 21st and Federal Streets is bringing pasture raised beef, pork and chicken to Point Breeze while supporting another family-owned small business, Triple C Angus LLC.
Sultan will pull out his 5-foot charcoal grill and dish up an eclectic menu showcasing Triple C products like a black angus Denver steak with Chinese black bean pepper sauce, porchetta with pickled watermelon rind, lengua tacos, ham hock collards, oxtail baked beans and chicken liver dirty rice. Coles will be on site talking to guests and answering questions about her high quality, hormone and antibiotic free, pasture raised beef, pork and chicken. She will also have raw cuts available for purchase for anyone who wants to bring the farm home with them.
Triple C Angus is located 40 minutes outside of Philly in Salem County, New Jersey. They have a farm stand you can visit and purchase their products along with a carefully curated selection of other local items from South Jersey and Philly. They also offer Cow and Pig Shares where you can purchase an 1/8, 1/4, half or whole animal.
Grilling with Friends is a monthly event at Community running May through October on a first come first serve basis.
