Community College of Philadelphia Will Open This Fall With Online Classes
As many businesses and institutions are still reeling and trying to produce new business practices in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic, the Community College of Philadelphia has already decided how they plan to move forward. For the upcoming fall semester the Community College of Philadelphia will open with online classes.
CCP President Dr. Donald Guy Generals announced the landmark decision during a virtual town hall meeting with faculty and staff members on Tuesday.
Barring any additional changes, all classes will be online. However, Dr. Generals didn’t completely rule out traditional in-person classes. That door will remain open depending if circumstances change this fall. This will be on a case-by-case basis considering some majors do require lab work.
Dr. Generals stated, “Given the continuing uncertainty regarding long-term COVID-19 forecasts, Community College of Philadelphia has decided that online classes are the safest and best educational option for the fall semester. We are making this decision now to allow faculty adequate time to develop the best remote-learning strategies and to allow students to begin making plans for the fall semester.”
In addition CCP plans to continue its laptop loan program for students dealing with financial hardships.
