Coffee Drinkers Rejoice, Cafe Bustelo is Opening a Pop-Up Shop in Fishtown
The celebration may be short lived but for true “at-home” coffee drinkers, especially in the Latino community Cafe Bustelo is a staple in their homes. The bright yellow cans of this Cuban inspired and NYC based coffee brand are unmistakable and a tradition for many Latin coffee drinkers. Now the house hold coffee is making its way into the streets of Fishtown. Think of it as un-gentrifying the neighborhood. The Cafe Bustelo Pop-up cafe will be located at 1221 Frankford Avenue.
The pop-up cafe has been making its rounds and was just in Houston. The Philly Cafe Bustelo pop-up will officially open July 9th and will remain open for three months. Guests will get to experience the full Latin experience with live music, traditional Latino finger foods such as empanadas and pastelitos.
The Cafe Bustelo pop-up will be open obviously for morning drinkers and will remain open until the evening. The official hours will be Tuesday-Thursday from 8 am-6pm, Fridays and Saturdays from 8 am-7 pm and Sundays 8 am-5 pm. It is kind of weird that it will be closed Mondays considering that’s when folks need coffee the most. But nonetheless it’s coming and will definitely give the Fishtown neighborhood some flavor.
