The City Hall Christmas Tree-Lighting Ceremony is Tonight
If you’ve been keeping up with the tree-lighting ceremonies around Philly then you are no doubt in the holiday spirit. However, the main event takes place tonight at 6 pm when City Hall kicks-off the 21st annual holiday tree-lighting ceremony.
Festivities start at 6 pm with musical performances by Estelle, The Children of the Arts Youth Choir, tenor Justin Gonzalez, violinist Emmanual Houndo, and more. Mayor nutter will officially light-up the 35 ft. Norway Spruce at 7:56 pm. Check out the complete itinerary below:
6 p.m.: Pre-programming begins
7 p.m.: Official tree-lighting program begins at 7 p.m.
7:30 p.m.: Televised live by 6ABC begins at 7:30 p.m.
7:55 p.m.: Countdown to the official lighting of tree by Mayor Nutter, City Representative Desiree Peterkin-Bell and guests
7:56 p.m.: Holiday Tree Lighting
