BRU Craft & Wurst, U-Bahn and Cinder will unleash 92 kegs of rare, fancy and unique drafts on Pro Bowl Sunday, January 29th during Sour Bowl, Stout Bowl and new Cider Bowl. Since Philly Beer Week back in June, Craft Concepts (the group behind the three bars) has been squirreling away hard-to-get keys that include sours, wild ales, funky ciders and tops in imperial IPAs and stouts. Taps start pouring at BRU (1318 Chestnut Street) with Sour Bowl III at 11:00am, followed by Cider Bowl I at Cinder (1500 Locust) at 2:00pm, then crossing back over Broad to Stout Bowl II at U-Bahn (1320 Chestnut) at 4:00pm. At 6:00pm, look for ten bonus kegs to pour back up at BRU with a special Sour Bowl Overtime featuring Russian River.  All beers will be specially priced between $7 and $10 (average) and are available first come, first served until kegs kick. BRU Craft & Wurst presents the return of Sour Bowl III from 11:00am to 2:00am with nearly three dozen wild and hoppy drafts, plus a special beer brunch menu from Chef Craig Meyers running 11:00am to 4:00pm. Tap lists and menu for Sour Bowl is found below.

Beer Brunch:

Baked French Toast – cognac maple, fresh whipped cream
Sweet Potato Hash – crispy tofu, fennel, thyme; home fries, grilled sourdough toast

Everything for Sour Bowl is first come, first served, and all beers limit one/person until 2pm. Sours all priced $7-10 for .25L and 10oz drafts, also available for $3-5 for 3oz samples (Cantillon is $6/5oz pour). Hoppy drafts are all $7/pint (Hoplam/Lunch 10oz).


Cinder welcomes the debut of the first annual Cider Bowl from 2:00pm to 2:00am. Look for a baker’s dozen of special ciders – and the line-up isn’t just talking apples either. Plus look for a bounty of sours, saisons, stouts, strong ales, and fresh as hell hoppy beers from six of Cinder’s absolute favorite breweries.

Ciders will all price $7-8 for 25cl and 33cl pours. The hoppy drafts will all run $7/pint, the saisons $7/33cl, and the strong and wild stuff $7-9 for 25cl. No individual limits.  From the kitchen, look for $5 cheese and charcuterie pairings for each draft, plus special pizzas and snacks running all night.


Back across Broad Street, Stout Bowl is back from 4:00pm to 2:00am. Look for 15 behemoth drafts, 11 Eclipse bottle pours, a firkin of fresh as hell IPA, and a whole bunch of housemade, off-menu special sausages and wings.

Doors open at 4:00pm, all stouts $8-10 for .25L full pours, $4-5 for Sou4oz samplers. Eclipse pours $5/4oz, $40 for flights of all eleven. Wings $8/ea (celery, carrot, ranch), Sausages $12/ea (fries, pickles). All beers are limit one/person until 5:00pm. No limit after 5:00pm.


New for 2017, Sour Bowl brings in a special line-up of ten new kegs halfway through the day from Russian River from 6:00pm to 2:00am.
